Is it possible to lead a heathy lifestyle during the pandemic?

During times of stress and uncertainty, it can be easy to fall into bad habits, which could negatively affect our health, abandoning established healthy routines. However, I strongly believe we can do some things to maintain healthful habits.

​

First of all, our general wellness will be better if we take time to take care of ourselves, such as dedicating time for relaxation, spending quality time with our families and taking personal care of ourselves.

​

Secondly, we should try to keep active and find new ways to exercise, because we are sitting longer than usual. Furthermore, we should avoid eating unhealthy foods. It is a fact that proper nutrition can help improve our energy levels and mental health. Added to this, sleep can be affected when our routines change. Studies suggest getting seven or more hours of sleep a night is essential to our health. In fact, sleeping well can make us happier or improve our memory.

On the other hand, the fear of getting sick or losing a job can have a negative impact on our mental health and habits.

To conclude, I am convinced that not only is it possible but also necessary to lead a healthy life during the pandemic.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle will help us to have a healthy mind and body, so that the difficulties posed by the pandemic can be better addressed.

The COVID-19 pandemic, which controls our lives currently, is responsible for the change of some people´s behaviors. Don´t you agree that pandemic is helping us achieve a healthy lifestyle?

 

Firstly, the new situation has made us pay more attention to our health. In particular, some unhealthy habits have been changed. For example, researchers stated that spending more time at home offers us the possibility to make healthy home-cooked meals, avoiding processed foods.

In addition, we have learned that exercise is very important for our physical and mental health. For instance, walking daily, climbing stairs or riding a bike, can help us feel better.

On the other hand, working and staying at home for long periods of time has induced social isolation. Consequently, many people have started to suffer from depression, which has been aggravated by the distancing from the close family imposed by the situation.

To sum up, our behaviors may determine our happiness. In this context, I believe that some lifestyle patterns acquired during the coronavirus pandemic are good for our health and if we practice them, we will be happier.

Personal trainers said that it´s possible to have a healthy lifestyle during pandemic, but is it true? I completely agree with this idea, because it is known that exercise and diet are crucial for this objective.

Firstly, if you want to have a healthy lifestyle, you should have a balanced diet. It´s very important not to eat a lot of meat and fats, and drink two litres of water per day. In the pandemic, people have eaten more chocolate and fat meals, but we should avoid it.

​

Secondly, during the pandemic gyms and sport centers have been closed, but we can do exercise at home or in the street. In the first case, we can do sit-ups, press-ups and other exercises which don´t require specific equipment. Furthermore, if you want to have more intensity in your training, you can use water bottles of different sizes, instead of weights. In the second case, you can run or walk in the street, and increase the intensity during the week.

​

In conclusion, we can always have a healthy lifestyle, also in the pandemic. Such as in other life situations, we must avoid excuses, and that will be the moment when our healthy lifestyle will start.
