PARADOX

The power of the mind. Two men are at the bottom of a well. One of them has several injuries in his body. The other one, who looks older, is dressed like a medieval man. The injured man wants to go out of the well because he wants to give his wife a surprise. The second one is scared of the soldiers who are in the castle. Using some old iron steps, the first one will try to climb to the top of the well in spite of the medieval man’s fear to be tortured if they go out from. What will they find outside the well?

PARADOX
​
It´s not possible to travel in time. However, our protagonist wakes up in a well next to a stranger without remembering how or when he got there and that stranger man tells him that they´re locked in the dungeon of a castle, from where it´s impossible to flee. Nevertheless, suddenly, he remembers how he fell when was fixing the well in the garden of his house. Determined to get out, he starts climbing, despite the warnings of danger of death from his cellmate. Just before exiting the well, he observes the strange man, who watches him from the bottom, and thinks he must be an insane who thinks they´re in the Middle Ages, but that's not possible ... or is it?
THE JIGSAW

The short is titled The Jigsaw and belongs to the horror film genre. It was written, produced and directed by Basil and Rashad Al-Safar and the main actors are Pedro Monteiro and Daragh O’Malley. The short tells how an old man, despite a shop owner´s recommendations, buys a mysterious puzzle. When the old man is about to finish the puzzle, he sees a scene that surprises him and generates great concern. The last piece of the jigsaw is the key to the story. In my opinion, the old man buys the jigsaw knowing what the consequences are.

THE ENGLISH TEACHER
​
The English Teacher is a short drama with an opening, which shows the feeling of guilt, and different, and strange ways of apologizing. Robert Brammel is a private English teacher who accepts a strange student because he pays him a lot of money for some English lessons. The student is a friendly man that wants to be his friend at all costs, but the teacher doesn't want to. One day, Robert gets an email from his student. In it, he tells Robert his terrible secret. The end of the movie makes us think about how fragile life is, and how afraid we are confronting our own actions.

THE ENGLISH TEACHER

The English Teacher is a film by Black Ridder. The story tells about the unusual relationship between a teacher and his student. In the beginning, the camera shows a girl cycling while a tender sad music is played in the background; then, we can see a man waking up, who finds a message on his mobile where somebody, called Jim, asks him to be his teacher of English. Their relationship develops rather comically. However, as lessons progress, the audience learn about Robert's life, wich seems quite lonely. Finally, despite the characters' easy-going relationship, the movie has a dramatic tone. What is their true connection?
GIRL OF THE VALLEY

Girl of the Valley is a drama about friendship and life. It´s a film by Adam Hope and won the 3rd prize at the Fresh Film Festival in 2016. This story takes place in the 20th century, and tells the story of a woman who lives in London but wants to move and change her life because she isn´t happy there; however, she is afraid to change her life. For that reason, a friend encourages her to come to her country house for a few days and discover a new life. In conclusion, the short helps us not to be afraid and not to have make excuses change our lives.

LOCKER ROOM​
​
Locker room is a thoughtful drama that was written and directed by Greta Nash, and perform for the first time in 2017. It starts when the main character Carla discovers that her closest boy friends are lying to her. The short is focussed on, adolescents’ most current problems such as the violation of sexual privacy (for example when somebody make records them naked without their approval) and social pressure. Carla has to confront by herself her owns fears and insecurities and testing her moral values. Are you ready to test your own moral values? For example, if you were the witness of some kind of crime, would you report it to the authorities? Are you prepared to pay for the consequences? Maybe you will lose friends or suffer discrimination for doing so I'm sure this short will touch your soul.

LOCKER ROOM

Locker Room is a drama short, about a teenager girl who will be involved in a difficult situation. At the beginning, it shows us typical places and situations at a high school. After class, the girl and her male friends go to some friend’s house. There she discovers something disturbing about them. Also, this discovery is related to one of her best friends. The girl will have to decide what to do. For all of this, this short has made me think about how difficult it is to make decisions when close people are involved in a tricky situation and how sometimes it isn’t easy to do the right thing.
