MY PARENTS’ GOLDEN WEDDING
This happened last May. It was a very especial day for us because we were going to celebrate my parents’ golden wedding and they didn’t know anything about it. It would be a terrific surprise! my sister and I had prepared every detail carefully. She was in charge of calling the guests and I was working on a beautiful photo report, among other things.
The great day arrived and everything was ready. We were extremely concerned about everything going on. I was in a very cosy church talking with our closest relatives and friends while my sister was picking our parents up. They had dressed up for the occasion as we had told them a white lie previously.
Suddenly, when I was preparing the speech I was going to read at the ceremony with the priest, I saw that my parents were coming with my sister, my brother-in-law and my little niece. I couldn’t believe it! As soon as I saw them approaching me, I realized that my poor father was very ill, he couldn’t stand and he was shaking like a leaf, and my mother couldn’t stop coughing and her face was a whole poem. They both had very high temperature but they had made the effort to come for us. Before entering the church, they were telling us that a week before they had been visiting one friend of theirs at the hospital and he was very sick with pneumonia. They told me that if they had known that it was contagious, they hadn’t gone to visit him.
Finally, we could celebrate the religious event. Event though my parents were absolutely amazed, they couldn’t enjoy their party as they deserved. What’s more, three hours later, we had to take them to the hospital and they stayed there with pneumonia for twelve days. It was a nasty experience to forget and my parents decided to be more careful next time.
A HONEYMOON WITH A BAD START

My story took place three years ago. My best friends, Nuria and Pablo, went to Kenya on their honeymoon. It was the dream of their lives and they were as excited as two children on their first school day. They were going to fly first to Brussels, and then, get another flight to Nairobi.
The first part of the trip was OK. They flew to Brussels in good time and took the right flight to Nairobi. But they were not paying attention to the información given by the pilot, and arrived at Nairobi airport (or that´s what they thought) one hour and a half early. They got off the plane and went to the passport control area. They were waiting in the queue for half an hour, and when the customs officer took their passports, he asked them where they were flying to, and they said “to Kenya” and the customs officer said that they were not in Kenya!, they were in Uganda! UGANDA!!
They were absolutely terrified. What had happened? Why were they there? There were a few minutes of panicking. Then the flight attendant asked them for their ticket and said “don´t worry, your plane is still here”. They were flying on the right flight, but nobody at the travel agency they had been told that the plane would make a stop over in Uganda to get and leave passengers. The pilot had announced it but they had been distracted and had not hear it.
It was an awful experience, but that was all. They had to turn round and get on the plane againg to Kenya where their honeymoon was amazing, the views were awesome and they could enjoy their dream of looking for the Big Five in Africa come true. However, they decided to be more careful next time.
FALSE APPEARANCES
Once upon a time, in a little, dark and rainy village of Spain there was a group of four friends, Laura, Pablo, Carlos and Cristina. They were really courageous and they were always looking for adventures.

One day, when they were at school, one of their classmates told them that the previous day he had had to go to the swimming pool, and pass through the “Devil’s House”. The four kids did not know what he was talking about. The kid told them that the “Devil’s House” was a very old and scary house in which a scary man lived. He continued “it is said that you can hear him laugh like the Devil”. So, after hearing that, they decided they had found their next adventure.
​
After school, they went to that house. “What a scary house!” they said. Laura tried to open the door, but it was open, so they decided to go in without any hesitation. When they entered, they could hear the creepy wooden floor, the rain falling on the roof and the wind hitting the windows... and, suddenly, the wind shut the door! They screamed and an old man appeared in front of them.
​
The elderly asked them what was happening, so they explained everything, and after hearing the story, the man started to laugh. They were really confused so the old man explained them he liked watching comedies on TV, and that his laugh was really loud, but he was not a devil. After that, they decided not to believe everything they were told and to be more careful next time.
A HORSE RIDING ACCIDENT
What are you waiting for to ride your mare? Victor asked his sister Diana, who had just
arrived at the stable. They had been waiting anxiously for that day and, finally, it had
arrived. They were in a tiny village in the fabulous countryside in north Peru. It was their
first time there.
Thrilled, Diana jumped onto the mare and rode it. They opened the door of the stable and
started their journey towards the river near the village. Diana’s mare was as white as a
sheet and Victor’s horse was as black as night. They had been reading for an hour along
the road when, unexpectedly, a wolf jumped onto the road it started growling
aggressively, (the wolf had been hiding in the brushwood).
Diana’s mare jumped and started to run absolutely confused, without any control. Diana
screamed, totally horrified. At the time, she wasn’t a fabulous horsewoman, luckily, she
could get off the mare by herself, but, unfortunately her right arm had got injured when
she hit the ground.
Worried, she started to look for her brother. Some time later, she still hadn’t found him
and decided to go back home. Fortunately, when she arrived at the stable, her brother had
already got there and he didn’t have any scratch. They hugged strongly to console each
other. And they decided to be more careful next time.
AN ACCIDENT IN THE AIR

“Really? A hot-air balloon ride?” Sandra asked his boyfriend Miguel, who had just given her birthday present. She had been trying to convince him to try it for years when he realised it would be a great surprise for her. Sandra was as excited as Miguel scared about flying in a hot-air balloon.
​
They drove to Segovia and met Javier, an old friend whose family had a hot-air balloon enterprise for tourists. They took off successfully. “Look! What gorgeous views of the mountains!” said Sandra enthusiastically. Once they were at 15,000 feet, Javier stopped the engine to enjoy the landscape.
​
While they were having a snack, an injured vulture crashed into the balloon. The balloon material was tore on the top and the hot-air balloon began to lose high remarkably fast. Javier couldn’t do anything because the engine didn’t work due to the collision. He was prepared for an emergency landing. “If you weren’t so capricious, it would have never happened” screamed Miguel. Javier recommended the couple not to argue and to bend down during the landing.
​
When they landed safely, they felt extremely grateful. It would be an anecdote to tell all their friends, but they had never been so scared in their lives. They decided to be more careful next time.
DON´T TRUST STRANGERS
​
Oscar was studying in his bedroom and he wasn´t able to concentrate thinking of his next trip. As he loved traveling around the World and getting to know new cultures. Oscar decided to call his cousin Borja and his girlfriend Carmen to go with him to Moroco. By July Oscar would have finished his exams, so they bought the tickets for this month.
​
Finally, July arrived and they were on their way to Moroco. The plane was landed at 10:00 am. When they had left their luggage at the hotel, they went out to explore the city. They were walking through the Street market when a thin tall man asked them if they wanted to visit his marijuana plants. Oscar, Carmen and Borja acepted and got into the man´s car.
​
The man drove for tree hours and Carmen started to get nervous. – “Where are we going?”- She asked. – “We are very close!”- Answered the man. After a while, they saw a group of ten man, who had stopped their cars in the middle of the road. The man stopped and got out of the car. He started to talk with the Group. Oscar wanted to know what was happening and got out of the car. The man told Oscar that the trip was 130 pounds. “You said that we were going to see your marijuana plants and we haven´t even arrived. We aren`t going to pay you anything!” -Oscar said furiously-. Suddenly, the group of men took out guns and Oscar, Carmen and Borja had to run terrified looking for help.They decided to be more careful next time.

A FRIGHTENING NIGHT!
It happened not so long ago. It was a terribly frosty and windy night of March. Although there were thousands of miniature stars in the sky, the night was as black as coal. Some friends had been planning a suspicious expedition to the graveyard for two months.
They wanted to know more about spirits and paranormal effects and the graveyard was
the best place to find out something.
It was 10.00 pm, the group snuck out of their houses and met under an enormous oak in front of the graveyard door. They were extremely excited and were a bit frightened, but, finally, their curiosity won over and they went into the graveyard with the purpose
of finding something disturbing.
Once inside, they had been waiting at the back of one tomb for a long time, when suddenly, just before midnight, they heard something strange! It was a clang of chains and that noise was coming closer by leaps and bound to them. All of them were pale and scared and they started running toward a secure place. They were in a such hurry to come back home that they did not notice a sheet of ice on the road. Bill, the last to leave,
slipped on it and fell down. That was not all, to make matters worse, he had lost consciousness.
Bill woke up in hospital with a contusion and a broken leg. His friends, stood next to the bed, smiling at him. They were glad because it had just been a scare. In spite of everything, they already had already a new plan but decided to be more careful next time.
DANGEROUS PHOTOGRAPHY

"Do you think the photos will look good here? The is not much light", said Jessica to her classmate Mark, who was carrying the camera. They were in an abandoned, derelict house to take some pictures for their photography class.
​
"Yes, they will. Stand near this broken window" answered Mark. Jessica was not sure this was the most appropriate place to go, it could be dangerous. In spite of not agreeing with Mark she did what he said.
​
Once Jessica was next to the window posing, Mark took some art photos. Then they climbed the stairs to the second floor and moved carefully because in some places the floor was cracked and creaked in each step. They were close to the staircase, ready to go down but suddenly the floor opened up.
​
Jessica screamed as the ground under her feet disappeared. Terrified, she grabbed the edge of the hole. Mark helped Jessica to climb carefully to the second floor. The rest of the house bagan felt down so they went down the stairs as fast as they could and ran out the place.
​
Safely out of the house, of which there was only some debris left, they hugged and took a deep breath. They felt exausted but were glad to be alive. At least they had then good photos, but they decided to be more careful next time.
STRANGE HOUSE
​
It was a cloudy day in London. John and Eva were in their grandmother’s house. It was a luxurious mansion near the big ben. However, this house had been hidden a big secret since 1856. John and Eva knew that something magical was happening every time they went there.
​
Suddenly, john had a brilliant idea: while their grandmother was cooking their favourite meal, they decided to go upstairs to investigate all the glamorous corridors. They were really delighted but everything changed when they saw, at the end of the corridor, a sign on one door that said: “do not enter here”. Eva got even more interested in seeing what was inside the room than John, so she pulled the door and went in.
​
Therefore, john waited outside making sure his grandmother was still doing that tasteful meal she had promised them. After 2 minutes, john heard Eva scream and he didn’t think it twice. He entered the mysterious room. When he was inside, he looked, paralysed, at his sister. They decided to be more careful the next time.
THE FOREST
Once upon a time, in a beautiful village in northern Norway, a group of Viking children were having fun playing near a huge forest, on a wonderful spring day. The children were playing to be explorers and warriors, for that reason , they imagined that the branches of the trees were wonderful swords with which to rescue some beautiful princesses, and the nuts of the trees were a magnificent treasure that they had to steal from the dragons that guarded them, which in fact, were squirrels.
Suddenly, they heard a strange noise coming from inside the leafy forest. The children knew that they shouldn’t enter there because the forest is enormous and dangerous, but due to their adventurous spirit, they decided to enter. After a long time walking to find out what that sound was, they realized that they had been lost.
The children, frightened, began to scream as loud as they could, waiting desperately for someone to hear them. By chance, a Viking who was hunting was passing by, who, surprised by the screams, approached the children and took them to his house.
The children never knew where that strange sound came from. But they were clear that they would never enter to that terrifying forest, and they decided to be more careful next time.
THE NIGHTMARE
​
It was a shiny morning. The sun was coming in through the curtains while Mike was getting up. His long brown hair was completely dishevelled, showing how bad his night had been. The same nightmare that had been following him for one week.
​
There, he was alone in the deepest darkness. Then, there was a sound of chains hitting the floor. His body paralysed like a statue. That horrifying eyeless woman stared at him. And suddenly, her arm pierced his chest catching his heart and killing him instantly.
​
He woke up wrapped in cold sweats. If they hadn’t gone to the house up on the hill, this would never have happened. He and his friends Josh and Katy had gone there one week ago.
The house was old and half-destroyed, but Josh wanted to go there in spite of everyone in the village being scared of this place. When they arrived at the house, the moon was up on the sky and its light created a scary aura around the house. They were going to knock the door when it opened alone. In spite of it being summer, inside the building it was spookily frosty. While they were going throw the main corridor, the sound of chains seemed to fill the place and the walls began to shake. The three friends ran away as far as possible from the house.
​
Seeing what had happened, they decided to be more careful next time.
A BIG LESSON
The trip had finished and the couples of animals were leaving the boat. Finally, after 150 days of endless travel on this smelly cellor aboard, they came ashore.
The most wonderful, skilled and slender animal had survived the dangerous crossing. They were really happy because Noah had chosen them to restock the world after the flood.
Nevertheless, some kinds of creatures which hadn´t been called by Noah had dissapeared forever. No more T-rex, dragons or those strange horses with a horn on their faces.
The different animals were talking with each other about their trip experiences when, suddenly, Mrs. Zebra saw a weird pair of animals. “Look at them”-she said- “They look horrible”.
Mr. Snake asked the strange couple who they were. They answered that they were armadilloes.
When the Elephant asked them what their skill was, Mrs Armadillo said that they didn´t have any special talent. Everyone laughed at the poor Armadilloes while, suddenly, a large group of red ants came out of the boat. All the animals started to panic, except the armadilloes, who just rolled up themselves. They used their strong skin as a shield , to protect themselves of the ants.
Everyone looked at them amazed and asked them for a forgiveness. They decides to be more careful about what they said next time.
