Letters of application

Dear Mr. Carroll,

With reference to your advertisement in Sunday’s edition of “El Norte de Castilla” I am interested in applying for the position of young helpers in the summer camp.

I am 23-year-old and I have just finished English Philology at the Valladolid University. I have obtained very good marks so I will begin with my dissertation next September.

I have worked as a lifeguard in Liencres beach for three summers. Near Liencres there is a camp where I worked as a “Monitor free time” for the last two summers. In addition, I have been a member of the “Scouts” since I was 5-year-old.

I am very keen on sports, especially swimming, in which I was awarded in backstroke and butterfly styles. I love working with children, actually, I am the eldest of four siblings and I am always coming up with funny and exciting games. I consider myself hard-working, quite sensible, reliable and very enthusiastic with the projects that I undertake.

I was offered an internship at a well-known London’s college for next year, consequently, I am available. Even though I have a little commitment on July, if you considered my application, I would call it of without any problem.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours sincerely,

S. Hoyos

Dear Mr Ben Carroll,

Please accept my enthusiastic application for the position of summer camp helper, advertised in “El Norte de Castilla” last week. As soon as I read the description, I
thought I was an ideal candidate for the position.

I am a sophomore at Valladolid University, studying a Master’s Degree in Primary Education. I have a B2 Certificate in English and I speak French fluently because I
have travelled to France all summers with my family since my childhood.

I have some experience as a babysitter with two elementary school-aged children. My primary responsibilities in this role included tutoring and homework help, as well as designing educational games. I carried out a similar job to the one advertised last year
as a summer volunteer at the local government where I played with children, implemented indoor activities and chaperoned fields trips. I am very
patient and have a keen awareness of how to interact with both children and teenagers. I am available for work during the summer months. I may be contacted by telephone at 78548910.

Thank you so much for your time and consideration.

Yours sincerely,

Martha Evans

I am a 22-year- old university graduate looking for her first job experience. I graduated in the University of Valladolid, in Spain, in Modern Languages, French, English and Spanish, with more than satisfactory grades. It is my desire to become a language teacher; this job can allow me the opportunity to learn and to improve my English and French.

Despite my lack of formal work experience, this job can help me not only to perfect my language level, but also to challenge myself to overcome my shyness. Through these past years I have been working on the improvement of this quality. I consider myself as a reliable, active, social and perfectionist person.

I will be available for interview any time you need, as I have no prior plans for the summer, so in case you need me, I may be contacted at the above address or at this e-mail address (worker@gmail.com).

I look forward to your prompt response.

Dear Mr Ben Carroll

With reference to your advertisement in Monday’s edition of the Times, I am interested in applying for the position helper in your camp next summer.

I am 22 years old and, at  this moment, I am in my last year of studies to become a  sports teacher. There will be no problem to have my degree in June, because all my qualifications are good.

Every summer, since I was 12 years old, until I was 18 years old, I stayed in a camp. So, I know very well what kind of activities, can be done in a Camp. In addition, I am bilingual in French and English

(my  mother is English, and my father is French). Also, I consider that I am a hard worker, sociable and reliable. Of course, I am good at outdoor activities and sports.

Although, I have no reference from an employer, I would be grateful if you would consider my application. I would like to have the opportunity of having an interview to show you how motivated I am.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,
