MEET ANA
While I am thinking about my self-portrait, I realize how difficult it is to talk about oneself trying to be as objective as possible.
The simplest thing is to write about what needs no explanation: my appearance. When I travel abroad, as a result of my olive skin and my curly hair, people usually discern my Mediterranean origins at first look. However, nobody notices my hands, which I have been hurting for years by biting my nails, they are not only the part of my body I find less attractive, but also they are identical to my grandma´s hands, so that makes me have mixed feelings about whether adoring them or not.
The fact of being a shrewd and steady person has helped me whenever I have had to start working at a new school, therefore these two facets have made me be a determinate person. Despite giving the impression of being self-sufficient and spontaneous, those people who are closed to me know that I am shy and I need a lot of time to have clear ideas.
I guess my passion for nature is the reason why I enjoy doing any activity and sport that takes place outdoor.
As far as I am concerned, if I could only use two words to define myself, sociable and free would be those words.
​MEET CAROLINA
My name is Carolina and I am already in my early forties. I was born and grew up in Valladolid, where I am currently living and working. Although I studied Chemistry at the Complutense University of Madrid I work as Production Controller in a bakery factory, whose brand is well
known: Donut-Panrico. I am married and have three sons.
I think that what characterizes me is that I try to be honest and conscientious not only in my
private life but also in my work. Because of this, I think others may consider me sometimes too
serious. However, my aim is only to be thorough and effective.
Being a mother is an important aspect of my life so despite the stress of everyday life, I try to
educate my children with love and respect. I feel exhausted at the end of the day but I always
find a moment to play or listen my sons.
I love nature so I spend a lot of time outdoors to be in contact with it, for example by hiking
or snorkeling with my family or friends.
To my mind, I am too idealistic, but this is what makes me feel good because it is the only
thing in which I believe.

My name is Ana and I’m a 29-year-old girl and I am currently living in Valladolid with my boyfriend and two cats. I’m the second one of three sisters and I grew up in a small town. If you look at me you’ll see a medium size woman with brown hair, green eyes and a freckled face.
Since I was a kid, I’ve been curious about everything and I guess this fact reflects on my different studies. I would spend all my life learning new things if I could.
Although I used to be a rather solitary and insecure adolescent ,nowadays I’m quite self-confident and a friendly person and I’m proud of having some fantastic friends. They say I’m not only a good listener but also a good counselor. In addition I’m a calm person and consequently, I don’t really like fights and senseless discussions
I try to enjoy life each single day in spite of all the ordinary problems and I think that’s possible if you’re proud of what you are and what you do and if you don’t pay too much attention to things which really don’t matter.
It might be impossible to make a good self-portrait because I’m in constant change and I’m still looking for the secret of life Meanwhile l will walk without any hurry, enjoy the sights and l try to learn and to improve all I can.
​MEET RICARDO
I’m Ricardo Cuesta, a 41-year-old English student. I was raised in a family of dairy cow farmers in a small village located on the Road to Santiago, until I moved to Valladolid to study Economics, where I´ve worked as a manager.
I consider myself down to earth, trustworthy, with a calmness that I easily transmit to others, especially in extreme situations. Although I can appear a little overly serious, if you give me a chance, you realize that I´m friendly, particularly in small groups.
In my spare time I like visiting diverse places where I discover the culture, appreciate the architecture and taste typical meals. Moreover, I enjoy planning the routes, searching for accommodation and, afterwards, driving my car along the itinerary. Furthermore, I frequently post my experiences on Tripadvisor.com to help other travellers.
Besides, I daily read about dairy sires, cows and the milk market, as well as management, economy, news, etc. mostly in English, on the Internet and through the social networks.

​MEET LUIS
I can assure you it’s a quite challenging task to write a self- portrait because it’s not so easy to describe yourself. I can see my life as I imagined when I was younger: being a teacher, married, with a son…
Now, in my early fifties, I keep fit, in spite of not being so slender as I used to be. My dark hair is becoming greyer and greyer, but I consider myself young, even if time passes for everybody.
People regard me as being thorough and conscientious, and it’s true, so I always try to do everything as well as I can, especially at work. On the surface I seem outgoing and confident, but deep down I’m incredibly shy and a bit insecure, in spite of not showing it. When I was a child I couldn’t bear speaking in front of many people, and I am currently doing it on a daily basis. I’ m not only pretty gentle, but also very sensitive in addition to tending to avoid conflicts. That’s why I hardly ever argue.
To my mind I’m a steady and responsible professional, and I try to do my best both as a husband and a father.
​MEET JUAN CARLOS
I am neither fat nor slim, neither tall nor short. I have always considered myself invisible. Nobody pays attention to me. My hair was between fair and brown but this is not important, because now, I have lost all my hair and my head looks absolutely bald. But I have got blue eyes, and this makes me feel a bit special, but only a little.
Always with a smile on my face, this is my principal character, and because of this, I am an especially friendly guy, but not only easy going, I’m also a good listener one. I appreciate a good conversation and I like to transmit loyalty and reliability. This is for me the most important, be friend of my friends. I like all of them can confide in me and because of that I look quite serious.
Sometimes very talkative, perhaps because I am very shy, however in some occasions, I abandon my prejudices and at that moment, I forget rules and conventionalisms to be a surprising guy, but only for a while.
